Hitchin Girls School Astronomy Masterclass nominated for The TES Outstanding Teaching Resource of the Year 2011

Andrew Jackson a teacher at Hitchin Girls' School who runs the Astronomy Masterclass has been nominated for The TES Outstanding Teaching Resource of the Year 2011. This is a fantastic achievement with the awards ceremony taking place at the Hilton Hotel in London on 8th July 2011.

Hitchin Girls’ School has run Astronomy Master Classes for the last seven years.  This is an area that inspires students, captures their imagination and enthuses them about physics.  Resources for a specialized area such as this are few and far between, we cannot even rely on the weather to allow us to view the Cosmos.

Some student comments about the masterclass were :
