Superb Food and Great Service

Doughty's in Bancroft is a favourite restaurant for "special" evenings. A warm, relaxed and inviting atmosphere, excellent wine list and one of the best menus in town. The service from the well-trained staff is understated and efficient, which makes all the difference. Highly recommended.

    Doughty's have some really amazing food, the staff are very friendly, based on Bancroft in Hitchen, it's a nice local.

    Amazing food

       

    The food at Doughty's is wonderful - very well cooked and varying, rarely finding the same thing on the menu as the last visit, but each course is consistently to the kind of standard you would expect to pay much more for. The service too is wonderful, very attentive and patient, never rushing you to order or to leave once you've finished eating. Very nice indeed.

    I came here for my boyfriends' dads' family, to start with I was not sure whether I would like any of the food, but as soon as the food arrived which I had chosen, I knew my initial thoughts were wrong. It was great food, a great atmosphere and service - we were not rushed, the order was not taken too quickly and the dessert menu was given with a break between courses.

    The only thing I should mention is the toilets are upstairs and the stairs are not very straight - I did not feel very stable walking up them, although I do not know where the disabled is.

    A very good place to eat overall.
