Everyone has heard of St Trinians and the name conjures up the image of a school or a bus full of unruly and wild girls brandishing hockey sticks, who cause chaos and mayhem wherever they go

ST TRINIANS 2
In memory of one of the franchises original Director/Producer's, Frank Launder (1906 - 1997) who was Hitchin born and bred, I felt it would serve the Hitchin community well if I bought a huge box of salted popcorn and an oversize carton of drink and settled down in the cinema to watch the latest offering of St Trinians 2 - The Legend of Fritton's Gold.
In this second film the girls are hunting for treasure. The goths, emos, trustafarians, geeks and posh totty have caught wind of the existence of some booty known as Frittons Gold as they are going to use every trick in the book to secure the treasure. But, of course as is tradition they are not alone in their quest and they are up against the very nasty Lord Pomfrey, played by David Tennant.
Headmistress Camilla Fritton (Rupert Everett and Education Minister Geoffrey Thwaites (Colin Firth) are key to this search and with the help of the girls formulate a plan to outwit Lord Pomfrey and his woman hatting followers AD1.
All the classic elements are pushed to the fore in this film and Rupert Everett is outstanding as Camilla Fritton and gives the original and well loved actor Alastair Sim a major run for his money as the latest headmistress of St Trinians.
This film is funny, rebellious and full of innuendo and cheesy lines but, it will have you smiling in your seat as you munch on your popcorn and slurp your drink!
N.B Amongst Frank Launders 72 film credits he directed and produced the following St Trinians films.
The Belles of St Trinians 1954
Blue Murder at St Trinians 1957
The Pure Hell of St Trinians 1960
The Great St Trinians Train Robbery 1966
The Wildcats of St Trinians 1980
Comments
David Tennant is dodgy at the best of times... not a bad film, pretty mindless though.

ReportFilm was very enjoyable, David Tennant's character i was not so sure about.
Storyline as good as the first however can not see there being another film after this one.
