Hitchin Vs Traffic Wardens

Working in Hitchin Town Centre everyday means that I have to find suitable parking facilities. There is plenty of choice when it comes to car parks, but there appears to be an unusually high number of traffic wardens that patrol the town centre.

The most popular venue for the traffic wardens appears to be the short stay car park in front of the River Hiz and St Mary's Church. Having parked there everyday for five days I saw at least one if not two wardens each day

Much mention has been made over the last week of the traffic wardens seen ticketing cars in Sun Street during the Rhythms of the World Festival on Sunday afternoon. The phrase 'make hay while the sun shines' springs to mind!

It has to be said that I have never interacted with any of these individuals so they could be the most helpful and friendly wardens in the country but it just seems to be a bit 'overkill' when surrounding towns have a much higher rate of traffic movement with not one warden in sight and everyone appears to park wherever and however they like.
