School Summer holidays - What's on for the kids?

With the summer holidays due to start next week for most of the schools in Hertfordshire many organisations are now advertising their summer time activities for parents to choose how to keep their youngsters amused for the next 6 weeks.

For the youngest age range, the under 5's, Holly Blue Children's Centre have organised activities throughout the summer. For more details on their programme of events you can visit http://www. hertschildrenscentres.org.uk/hollyblue

For the next age group, the 5-13 year olds there is the Playrangers Scheme. These start the week beginning the 2nd, the 9th and the 16th of August.

There are several locations were Playrangers take place. The venues are Ickleford, Bancroft, Purwell, Great Ashby, Knebworth, Pirton, Wymondley and St Ippolyts.

This is an outdoor activity schedule and is open for business regardless of the weather. It is a free play scheme and no booking is required. For further details on times and locations you can call 01462 474457.

An event that caters for all the family is the Family Fun Day being held at HBS Sports Centre, Grammar School Walk in Hitchin.

Coaches organise games on the field and activities in the sports hall. It is also recommended that you bring a blanket picnic and soak up some sun on the field.

All children attending must be supervised and the cost is £20 in advance and £25 on the day. The dates that these fun days take place  is the 28th of July, the 4th, 11th, 18th and the 25th of August. The opening times are from 10am to 4pm.
