The cost of transporting children to school is being reviewed in North Herts. An excercise to review costs is underway as more kids are being bused to and from schools in order to provide each one with a school placement

As parents fight to obtain places for their children at their chosen school more are in need of bus services as many schools are oversubscribed in the North Herts region; as are many of its counterparts in neighbouring counties so youngsters are being taken to the nearest school with availability. North Herts advised parents to start looking to senior schools already for next Septembers admission policies.

Long gone are the days of walking to school as it is no longer a given that your child will be attending the school nearest to their home.

So how will the costs of school transport be reduced. Is it going to become the case that parents will be expected to foot the bill to get their children to and from school?
