The news about Hitchin Councillers disregarding the example of the Conservatives and Lib Dems working in coalition and voting on Thursday at the NHDC meeting to ensure that the Tories are kept out of the two top committee chairman and vice-chairman seats is all over the local press and media.
With a Conservative majority in Hitchin the committee have joined forces to make sure that they can keep an eye on decisions that are made concerning the town. These decisions were made at the District Council meeting last Thursday where Counciller Lynda Needham was elected as leader of North Herts District Council.
The hopes behind these decisions are that the Chair and Vice Chair will ensure that Hitchin is treated with the love and respect that it deserves by its elected pariliamentary and council members.
