What future does Bancroft Park have?

Yesterday saw a public consultation take place in Bancroft Park. The council are trying to determine what local residents would like to see happen to Bancroft Park in the centre of Hitchin.

This is a park famous for its bandstand and stunning flower displays but sadly it has also seen some deterioration in some of its facilities over the years. One  tragic change not so long ago was the the fire that left the tennis pavilion derelict.

Once the council hears what the local community would like to see happen to the park they will be drawing up draft plans over the summer and then launch into another round of public consultations once the plans are available for viewing.
