The Walsworth Festival originates from a modest “Miss Walsworth” contest in 1974. Now in 2011 it has grown into the largest free festival in the whole of North Herts.

The Letchworth Morris Men are just one of the many local entertainment offerings at the Hitchin Walsworth Festival
The day is packed full of family orientated fun, and local bands and organisations.
Attractions this year include a flying visit from Herts Air Ambulance, ferret racing, archery, a dog agility course, magic and Punch and Judy shows with loads more stalls, games and activities to boot.
Among the entertainment will be the Stotfold Twirlers, Tam Lin Folk Group, Hitchin Town Band and the Letchworth Morris Men.
It is down to St Faiths Church that this wonderful Hitchin Festival exists, they organised the first ever Walsworth Festival and have been a driving force behind it ever since. So remember to visit St Faiths for flowers, cakes, cream teas, and a local schools art exhibition.
There is parking available for the modest sum of £1. It is worth remembering that the road works in that area will still be in place so vehicle access will be restricted from Cambridge Road.
