Hitchin Priory

Originally a Carmelite monastery built in 1317, Hitchin

Priory has progressively evolved over the centuries and now gracefully combines

a mosaic of ages.  The Priory enjoys a

prime town centre location and yet still benefits from its own 19 acre parkland

setting. 

Hitchin Priory’s 2010 Christmas party nights start from £35,

and include “Christmas novelties, Three Course Meal, and Disco until midnight”.  Jayne from Hitchin had her works Christmas party

there last year told us that “the food was great and on time, and the staff

Knebworth House

One of England's most impressive stately homes, Knebworth

House boasts a wealth of history, most famously the home of Victorian novelist

Edward Bulwer Lytton - author of the words "The pen is mightier than the

sword". 

Christmas 2010 offerings from Knebworth House come in the

form of their Party nights in a “star-clothed marquee”.  Prices start from £35 and include a three

course meal, Table magician (Fri & Sat), with a resident DJ playing until 1am

For a more traditional Christmas meal why not try one of

these great venues in Hitchin:

The Radcliffe Arms can cater for groups up to 30 for a sit

down meal and 45 for a Christmas buffet. 

Offering yummy dishes such as Tuscan style bean cassoulet, and Daube of

beef as well as the traditional Turkey and Trimmings there is something for

Or try something different with a Greek themed Christmas evening

at Bar Meze on Bucklesbury.  Dishes on offer

include Lountza, Kalamari, and Swordfish Shashlik.  This place is great for trying new dishes as

everyone just digs in to all the wonderful food in the middle of the

Doughty’s Brasserie has long established itself as a great

place to celebrate Christmas.  Always

providing an interesting, well thought out menu and this year is no

exception.  Dishes include the

traditional Turkey and Trimmings of course, but with others such as Lamb Shank,

Sea Bass and Hake it will be hard to choose.

The Rusty Gun in St Ippolyts just outside Hitchin has a

great Seasonal Menu this year.  When you

have finished dinner why not have a look around their on-site farm shop.  Priced at £19 per head for two courses and £25

How about an Oriental Christmas buffet at Regent Cottage on

the High Street.  This has long been a

favourite for works Christmas parties and the “all you can eat buffet”

eliminates all the hassle of pre-ordering. 

The great central location also makes it an ideal place to start a night

The Highlander on Upper Tilehouse St is a great pub bursting

with character which excels at customer service.  Why not join them for your Christmas

celebrations? Groups of 8 and over can enjoy their specially selected Christmas

Stay and play at the Sun Hotel with their festive offer of a

two night stay £99 per person.  With
