“Flowers, Bees, Butterflies and
-
ARCH Community Group
Trees”
On Thursday
3rd February 2011 ARCH Community Group officially signed their
Constitution and are now a recognised Group in the Community. The Committee is made up of 7 volunteers from
a variety of backgrounds that are giving up their time to get involved with
local residents and groups.
This group
of individuals are volunteering their time to run Stevenage, Letchworth and
Hitchin 'In Bloom' competitions this year, as well as to help schools and
community groups in the area with wildlife and/or garden clubs and
environmental projects.
They are
keen to get the local community involved in making the towns and communities a
better place to be. By holding an annual garden competition they hope that
everyone will get out in to their gardens and enter the In Bloom competition,
creating a better place for the people living there.
The start of
this year’s In Bloom competition will begin by inviting the winning schools
from In Bloom 2010, to enter a painting competition, with the theme of
“Flowers, Bees, Butterflies and Trees”.
The winner will have their entry used on all the promotional material
for In Bloom 2011.
The
committee has already donated many hours to get the group off the ground and
are all looking forward to the forthcoming competition and projects in the year
ahead. If you would like to get involved
either as a sponsor or volunteer, please call Steve on 01462 420598 or 07738
626580, for more information.
