Sir Henry Bessemer's 200th Birthday Party - The Windmill, Charlton, Hitchin

WHAT: Celebrate Sir Henry Bessemers 200th Birthday at an extraveganza of events at The Windmill Pub. Sir Henry was born next door to The Windmill on Saturday 19 January. A right Victorian Knees up during the day starting with a Victorian breakfast; an exhibition of pennyfarthings and other cycles; a steam fire engine; a barbecue and beer festival with specially brewed Bessemer ale. In the evening a banquet with wine, dancing, entertainment, an open fancy dress competition, fireworks, charity auction and raffle. Dinner dance tickets available at £25 per head including wine. Music and dancing only tickets (after 9.30pm) £5.
