Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on Sunday afternoon (March 11).
It happened at 4.07pm on the A600 Bedford Road, Lower Stondon (180m south of the junction with Boundary Close), when a blue Vauxhall Corsa collided with a group of pedestrians.
One of the pedestrians, a 69-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 36-year-old man was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious injuries while a woman and eight-year-old boy were also taken to hospital for treatment – all three were pedestrians.
The road was closed while the vehicle was recovered and a full collision investigation is underway.
PC Terry Nesbitt, of the Collision Investigation Unit, is keen to speak with anyone who saw the collision or anyone who saw the car or the pedestrians prior to the collision as they were on the A600.
Anyone with information relating to this collision is urged to contact PC Nesbitt at the Collision Investigation Unit on the 101 number.
