Firework Displays in and around Hitchin 2011

No matter how old you are, it's hard to deny that there is something magical about fireworks. Apart from the wow factor of the exploding lights followed by the inevitable 'bang', firework displays have a great community feel to them.

Which firework display in Hitchin will you be attending?
Once a year we get wrapped up in hats, gloves and scarves, sparklers at the ready and enter on to the streets to join the crowd of people walking towards the display. This, for me, is almost as good as the display itself. I think it's the anticipation of the night ahead that creates such electricity in the air.
So in 2011, what will you be doing to 'Remember remember the 5th November"? If you're not having your own private firework party then you will probably be attending one of these local displays:
Blueharts Bonfire Party, held at Blueharts Hockey Club, Lucas Lane, Hitchin on Saturday 5th November. As well as fireworks to music, there will be an outside bar, refreshments, funfair rides, a barbeque and the all important bonfire. They do offer parking but experience says that unless you get there very early it gets filled up pretty quick, so if you can, walk. Full details and prices can be found on our events page.
FOSSA Family Firework Display – great for younger children. Held at Strathmore Infant and Nursery School on 5th November. This charity event has been a great success year after year and a fantastic way of helping raise money. Marvel at the fireworks display with a traditional bonfire as well as a disco, hot food and bars for adults and children. See the events page for full details.
Letchworth Garden City & Baldock Lions Charity Firework Display, hot food & bar available. Taking place at Herts FA County Ground, Baldock Road, Letchworth GC on Sunday 6th November. Monies raised will go to Garden House Hospice, KEECH Hospice Care for Children and local Alzheimer's Club. Full details here.
Stevenage annual free firework display at Fairlands Park on Saturday 5th November. Unfortunately, due to its size there is no bonfire, but all the same every year they put on a fantastic firework display. Full details and prices can be found on our events page.
